    Default Stone or Malkin?

In a points only keeper League, goals worth 2, should I trade Stone for Malkin? I have an offer, that's pretty much
    the trade.

    Thanks !

Tough one. Are you going for it this year?

I'm tanking this year, so it's more for next year.

I might hang onto Stone then because of the age difference and it's just pretty much points....

IMO, Malkin has higher upside but higher (injury) risk. Also, Stone is UFA … so it's hard to get a feel for his potential next year without knowing where he is going to play.

In a points only league, I'd probably hold stone (26 versus 32) until I had a better idea of Stone's situation next year. (If he re-signs in Ottawa, and MD leaves, I'd probably make the trade for Malkin).

I think it’s a pretty fair price to land Malkin. If your contending for next season, i would do it . I think Malkin still have some good years left in the tank. Of the 2 , he’s the one with the most upside IMO.

Even in a tanking situation I'd want Malkin. Not as an asset to flip but to give you a chance to win next year. In a keep 8, 9 teamer you can be right back in the mix next year. Malkin will eventually decline but he is one of the very best the league has seen in the past 15 years and when he's healthy there's few like him. He doesn't always pay off, but last year he did for owners in a huge way.

Stone's had some injury concerns himself, so I'm not sure the injury risk is a big issue. Malkin still has PPG production and with his style of play, I don't see it dropping off anytime soon. I think this is a no brainer, I'd take Malkin's upside.

That’s a great trade for you! I’d easily do it even without the draft pick.
