Default Rookie D for next year

Which Dmen prospect boosted their stocks the most at the world juniors?

Of Dmen already drafted into the NHL not currently in the NHL, who has the best chance to perform well next year?

    Makar, Hughes, Brannstrom, other?

    Thanks!

They are all really good prospects. The opportunity that the Vancouver presents (basically no competition on D for PP time, a couple of really high-end forwards) makes Hughes the choice here. Also he might be the most skilled of them all fantasy-wise altogether.

No offense to Hughes, who would certainly be a good pick based on opportunity (as mentioned), but Brannstrom's skills are far superior, imo.

I'm extremely confident that Brannstrom will be the prime fixture on Vegas' power play next year, despite having Theodore and Miller in the way. It won't happen immediately, but it won't take long for him to grab the role.

I don't think you can really go wrong with Hughes or Brannstrom. Another option would be Bouchard for the Oilers, if he is available. He'd actually be my first choice.
