I think one of the biggest issues/problems Hellebuyck is having this season that's not getting a lot of attention is the reduced size of goalie equipment. He is one of a number of goalies (can't think of the others atm) who has been very vocal and critical in regards to the rule change(s) that effected the size of the equipment.

Good point, though I feel he's a guy who's just vocal in general, including all the interference happening on goalies.. I think it will even out but there are only a handful of lights-out starters right now. Can't just be the equipment can it?

Changing the equipment size effects everyone differently, some more than others. Maybe it's been harder on him to adjust because he relied on the "oversized" equipment a little to much and hasn't put in as much time as others getting used to the new sizing and how he has to alter his style/angles to compensate for it?
