The Golden Knights reassigned Brandon Pirri to the AHL. Pirri had nine points (6 goals) in seven games with the Knights. #VegasBorn

Looks like Pacioretty is back, but man, Pirri just cannot get a foothold. Not sure he could have done more.

Doesn't make much sense - should make room for him while he's hot.

Pirri plays 3 more NHL games and he is no longer Waivers Exempt.

Carrier is the player going on IR to open up the spot on the roster for Pirri.

So assuming that Pirri plays the next 3 games and sticks with Vegas, where do they slot him into the line-up once everyone's healthy?

I have an opp to get him with a 1st ww priority but I've been holding out for a talented youngster to come into the NHL so far but if he's going to land on the 2nd line or better, he will be useful to me.

PS: Not the team in signature.

I could actually see Vegas trying to upgrade on a player like Carpenter, for someone like Hayes (NYR), and lengthening the lineup to three scoring lines. Like what they tried with Tatar last season (though that didn't exactly go smoothly). If Pirri keeps scoring, they will find a spot for him. Vegas has some guys prone to missing games, so he may just be the glue that temporarily holds lines together and jumps around the lineup.

    Disagree with this.

Vegas GM McPhee has shown consistently that he will send waiver exempt players down, even if they are playing well or have talent, instead of losing a player.

Not sure how much more Pirri could have done in his first stint and he was still sent down.

Long term anyways, I'm not counting being sent down for a few days here and there. You do make a good point though. If you need someone on your roster and you can't afford someone missing a couple games every once in a while, Pirri could be a nerve wracking guy to own.

Man, I feel for this guy, you look at his production history -

.91 PPG in the AHL IN 324 games --
.47 PPG in the NHL in 236 games --

but no one has given this guy a full season in the NHL - 16/17 he got 60 with NYR, but that was bottom six.

Even in his first real taste - 13/14 with Chi - he put up 11pts in 28gp. That was a strong Hawks team but he's shown scoring all along the way. Give him a couple full seasons in a row and one has to think that pt/gm would have gone way up.

With the attention he's garnering now, 30 teams are on notice waiting for him to hit waivers.
