Official injuries??

Hi guys!


I have a weird question, but it could be really important for me in one of my leagues. I'm wondering about the official injury status of some of the guys in NHL. To make it really simple, I need a forward that is currently a NHL player (not retired) and on the injury list for the whole year.

I thought about Nathan Horton and David Clarkson. We know for sure that they aren't coming back this year, but are they officially NHL players on the injury list?

Yes, both Horton and Clarkson are "active" players who were placed on Long-term injured reserve at the beginning of the season and will be again put on LTIR next season. Marián Hossa is another who falls in that category.

We have a TEAM A (20 players) and a TEAM B (unlimited during the year). Players on TEAM B don't count, only players on TEAM A. At the end of the year, we can only protect a certain amount of players on TEAM A. We have 4 IR spots. That way, we can play players from B during the injury. When the injured player comes back, the player from B can go back. We alson have 1 free agent during the year.

I figured that I can grab a FA like Horton and put him on IR and play one my guys from B team. At the end of the year, he will go back and I won't lose him.

With 10 teams and over 500 players gone, you can imagine that the FA pool is very thin... That way, I can maximize my points and it doesn't affect next year...
