Provorov is, by far, the Flyers best even-strength defenseman.
I think his game is nearly almost always there.
If the Flyer forwards are doing OK... he's going to get his secondary assists.

Those 4 points ARE all secondary assists.
But all of different varieties, which display his game:

vs. Devils: It's lucky he gets an assist on this play. But due credit that he's positioned between the NJ puck shooter & the goalie. Puck bounces off him (BLK), tough clearned by Couts, goal by JVR.
vs. Wild: His 2nd here is an outlet pass from his defensive zone. But it is a gorgeous bank pass to stay clear of neutral zone wild. Laughton & Patrick may the offensive plays, but the pass is his style of awesome.
vs. Bruins: The Lindblom goal is from him joining a rush. He carries the entire neutral zone and makes entry drop-pass to Giroux. It's not a great pass, but gaining the offensive zone is first step to teams scoring goals... he does this well.
vs. Bruins: Just a standard clear. To be honest, this is any defenseman's 2nd assist. Nothing special here. Lindblom board tips it, Couts does the rest.

There could be 0 assists here... and we'd all be saying "Is Provorov slumping?".
It's all the same game. Sometimes the forwards score, sometimes they don't.
***It is why us "game watchers" aren't overly concerned with Provorov's long-term game.***

    2017-2018 season:
    Ivan Provorov: 41pts on 5ppp, 36esp (16esp in 16-17)
    Shayne Gost: 65pts on 33ppp, 32esp (16 esp in 16-17)

Provorov does get more even-strength time.
But it is sort of evidence that they are both similar offensive-output per even-strength minute.
PP1 TOI is the gravy-train of defenseman scoring. This is CRITICAL to fantasy hockey.

I'd be a big fan of seeing Provorov on PP1.
I think he can "John Carlson" the Flyers PP, just fine.

He's a free agent in my points only league.
I suppose it is possible, but I don't think they will go to Provorov over Gostisbehere. If they wanted to give Provorov a shot, I think they would have done so before going to the more drastic move of using 5 forwards.

That's the good news, the bad news is he only had 13:47 TOI. That's his lowest total in a looooooong time and would be crappy ice time for a forward much less a defenseman.

Are people still holding onto Ghost?

My other D are Hedman, Risto, Petry, Muzzin and Borowiecki. Our cats are G A +- PPP SHP HITS PIMS.

I've got him on IR+ right now so I don't have to do anything in the meantime, but if he's not getting regular powerplay time... i don't see him retaining value due to his lack of peripherals

I was holding. But now getting offers of Hoffman for him and that could help my playoffs. Such a hard decision

So holding was the right move, then! If you get a good offer, take it.

I held as well... hopefully Philly keeps rolling.... doesn't make up for my high draft of him but definately makes up for it with lots of man games coming in playoffs

The kid is inconsistent from year to year but does have a tremendous skill-set. I'd be buying him in all my leagues if possible. Top 5 talent in most leagues.
