    Default Brett Leason potential

This kid is having a special season! Every team ignored him the past 2 drafts and so far this season: 28G, 36P in only 64 games. He’s looking very good with Canada at the WJ. Doesn’t he reminds you Tanner Pearson? Very similar situation ... undrafted and huge 19 years old season. Leason will probably go in the first 2 rounds next draft . I haven’t see him play before the World juniors , can he be a future top 6 guy? Wanna know what kind of upside he got? Thx

Of course there's potential here but I think history works against him. Tons of guys suddenly became super scorers as older junior players and went on to do nothing in the NHL. TBH as a fantasy asset I would consider him more valuable in a trade than as a prospect to stash away.

He could also be the next Mark Stone.

IF he continues his pace , he will be 10th in PPG in the WHL in the last 18 years. He is also leading his team obviously and not relying on any other star players which is a good sign.

If I can get him at a reasonable position in my draft I'm gonna take him for sure, but will not reach

I agree , he can be a nice late pick in a prospect draft.

I'm with Eric. The fact that he went undrafted for two years then finally explodes in his 19 year old season (which he should be doing anyway) tells me the scouts didnt see anything enticing in his game or upside earlier in his Junior career. He could have turned out to be a late round steal in previous drafts but no one saw enough in him to draft him, even in a late round.

Stranger things have happened, but put me in the skeptical side of his upside. I'd let someone else take a chance on him if it was me.

I'm with Axeman and Eric Daoust.

He's a big guy who had a year or two of extra developpment relative to the others in junior hockey and hadn't really done anything before. It looks an awful lot like a case of a big guy excelling against smaller more inexperienced players. Same thing at the WJC.

Getting a strong Michael McCarron vibe from him.

Could be wrong, but I'm always wary of bigger players that come out of nowhere in juniors. Often they stumble when they aren't the only big guy on the ice anymore.
    On a fantasy hockey break.
