Ristolainen is in a similar situation as the others as he has Dahlin to compete with and will lose that battle. I’d slot Ristolainen in after Heiskanen and before Sergachev.

Can Dahlin and Risto not run the top PP together going forward? Most teams go with 4 fwds, but when you have two offensively talented guys like that on D, no need to compromise.

They could. But the trend in the NHL is 1 d man. All the best teams do it. I see this 2 d men on the pp in Buffalo lasting this season and maybe next. Ultimately I think they'll load up pp1 with 4 forwards.

Unless Buffalo upgrades their F's significantly I do not see why Risto and Dahlin cant be on the same PP....at worst case they are 1A and 1B
