Default Keller for P. Kane ?

    20 teams keeper pool, points only. 6F, 3D, 1G

I took this team from the basement 4 years ago and my goal is to set it up to dominate for many years, here is what I have now... standing in 3rd place about 40 points from 1st place. He's offering me P. Kane for my C. Keller. What you think? I don't want to get caught by the "big name" and I want to look long term. Should I say no to a Patrick Kane offer?

    Rantanen
    McDavid

    Laine
    Matthews
    Ehlers

long term Keller. short term (next 2yrs) Kane. I figure in 2yrs they'll be a wash & then stay that way until Keller fully realizes his potential. Certain elite players don't disappear in their early 30's. Kane could give 6 more years of pt/gm production.

Personally I would make that trade for sure. I don't buy in to the "anyone over 30 is worthless" mentality that is all of the sudden dominating fantasy hockey. Why plan a team 5 years in advance? So much happens in 5 years. I'm not trying to wait that long.

Kane helps you win now and in the next 3 or so years in my opinion. Looking at your team i have to think it's the best on paper. Keller is almost an afterthought on your roster... McDavid, Rantanen, Matthews, Laine is an insane top 4 in a 20-team league. Very nice work. I'd take the deal and win the championship.

I like the trade, you win it for the next 2-3 years and Kane's floor will remain high for years.

My only thought is that in a stat 6 f, 3 d, 1 g, you need defensemen and a legit goalie more than you need p Kane. Your forwards are already quite stacked for years to come. May be worth shoppibg Keller for a top end d man.
    Set roster weekly in H2H (Mon to Sun) - 16 Teams - start 6F, 3D, and 1G per week - Keep 2

    Points: 2 G / 2 A / 1 PPG / 1 PPA / 1 Hat Trick / 1 SHG / 1 SHA / 1 GWG - 3 Goalie Win / 2 Goalie Loss in SO or OT / 5 goalie SO

    Forwards:
    C. McDavid, N. Kucherov, R. O'Reilly, J. Schwartz, J. Toews, J. Huberdeau, T. Toffoli, M. Granlund

    Defense:
    B. Burns, J. Klingberg, R. Josi, J. Slavin

    Goalie:
    J. Binnington

Kane >> Keller now and probably for the next 5 years until he declines due to age. I don't see Keller ever becoming as good as prime Kane.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Lol, Keller was a darling of dobber forums last year, now this season he’s damaged goods? He had 1 pt in first 5, and 22 in 26 since (69 pt pace). I’d say 22 in 26 is the more likely pace for rest of season vs being a 50 pt pace. The guy doesn’t turn 21 until July, he’s going to be great.

when did I say he's damaged goods? All I said was he'd never be as good as P.Kane. That's not the same as saying he is/won't be a good player.

It's just way to early to say that, from what I've read a lot of people think he plays like Kane and has similar upside.

    Again, he's 20 years old.

I'd be happy to be wrong as I own Keller. Kane is a special talent, though.

If you are trying to win, PKane is the right choice. Keller may get to the same level as Kane someday (or maybe he won't) but until that time, Kane is the right choice.

Kane is 30 years old, and will be high end talent for at least 3, if not 4, years. That's plenty of time to draft another talent like Keller. This to me is a no-brainer. Take Kane.
