I would be happy starting DeSmith until Dubnyk figures himself out.
Dubnyk
DeSmith
So after having made the wrong decision every single week about which one to start - was patient with Dubnyk until he killed my SV% - I've decided to bounce my thoughts here see what the general feeling is.
Weekly roster moves in my league so I am committing to either 3 games (maybe, the way Dubnyk is playing, Stalock could get a start or two) from Dubnyk, none back-to-back at home. That is usually a favorable situation but the way Dubnyk has played lately, I'm not confident in him at all.
My 2nd choice is DeSmith, who seems to have the starting job for now and has 4 games and likely starts in 3 as one of them is back-to-back. He's played much better than Dubnyk lately.
So which one do you start? Dubnyk is due for a bounce back. Does it happen this week? If I sit him, he'll probably have 2 SO this week, the way my goalie choices have been going this year lol.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
I would be happy starting DeSmith until Dubnyk figures himself out.

Thanks guys. Goalies are so hard to predict I keep second guessing my decision here.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Well, I started DeSmith and things looked promising after Monday but he let in 4 goals for a .854 SV% today, which set my SV% back a bit.
Dubnyk meanwhile had a very strong game on Tuesday, letting in just 1 goal. We'll see how this week plays out with DeSmith likely playing 1 more game and Dubnyk 2. If my goalie track record is any indication, Dubnyk will get 2 SOs and DeSmith will get lit up.
I think I may have to just play my 2 starting goalies all season long and forget about this week-to-week management. When I played Dubnyk he stunk for 2 weeks and DeSmith had 2 pretty good weeks on my bench. Now that I'm starting him, he'll likely suck while Dubnyk will put up stellar numbers. Argh
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Murray is back which will put a dent in DeSmith's starts, meaning you're probably starting Dubnyk for the foreseeable future.
