I'm not a huge fan of the cats in this league but it is what it is.
I Generally wouldn't move a young star for even younger futures but I'm having a hard time saying no to this. What say you?

Negative. I would keep Laine here. Remember he had a slow start to the season and spent some time on the 4th line...
It would be nice he would get some more assists... its a bit lopside - 21-3 (goals to assists)
I think he will pick up more assists while he still continues to score lots.

For me I would need to see the rest of your team and also whether there are positional requirements for players. What the info you gave I'd keep laine. We still dont know if svech is a great player yet

I'd keep Laine, it's not enough to guarantee you get good value for him in the future.

It means he is my only tradeable asset and if I want to build a decent team in less than a decade it means trying to trade him for pieces that have a chance to be traded for more later.
I'm not sure "rebuild" is a controversial term but I get that I may not have provided a complete picture of the league (full dynasty). I was just looking for general impressions of the offer.

Decent offer but you can get more for Laine. If not I would hold. Ask for another piece or a bigger piece in a counter offer. See where that goes.

After Ovy, Laine is the next best pure goal scorer and will be for the next 10+ years, even if he's your only valuable asset currently you have to build around him.

if you trade your one 'decent' player' - you get two really good prospects - that you hope become Laine. Not sure you land ahead here, other than having two sexy names on the roster vs. 1. If it takes you a decade to become competitive - you'll have given up before you get there. 2-3 years. You just gotta dig in and grind it out. Laine is your primary piece. Start acquiring assets, prospects/picks to create a core around him.

This is not the time to trade Laine. He's 20 years old, and hasn't come close to his ceiling. When he approaches that ceiling, and if you're still in need of depth, he'll fetch a healthy ransom for you. If anyone wants him now, make sure they pay through the nose for him.
