Provorov or Faulk

I need to pick one, league in sig.

Faulk has PP1 time and great shot totals, but feels like it's only a matter of time til he loses his powerplay time.

Provorov has struggled, but feels like it's only a matter of time til he starts producing.



Or drop both of them and grab Hanifin?

Gosh - I hadn't checked Provorov's stats this year.
9p in 25gp... with only 41sog... yeesh.

His BLK and TOI is on pace with last year.
Sometimes a defensive-partner is a reason why a D-man is off... but I haven't read any hints that playing with Hagg is any detriment.

The one thing to watch carefully is the coach.
Hakstoll has always gone with Ghost on PP1... and as long as it works, it'll stay.
But... it's not like Provorov can't run a PP1.

In a 1-year league, I'd go with Faulk for the time being.
But yes, you could flip through Faulk, Hanifin, and Provorov depending on who is getting the most PP1 time.

As long as Faulk is running the CAR PP1, he's my choice.
So stay with him.

I think Hanifin is the hottest of the three so I might ride that wave, but you'll likely get a little more consistency out of Faulk for the time being.

Yeah Hanifin has taken the PP2 spot in Calgary and they seem to be converting more with him there.

IDK... I think that's the wrong way to look at it.
Yes - they've been converting recently.
But normally - going forward - a PP1 is exactly that... the first unit, which means they go first... and if they score, there is no PP2 time, i.e. No Hanifin time.

I mean... CGY's PP2 forwards are Backlund, Ryan, Neal, and Bennett.
That's a far, far cry from the Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk Fs on PP1.

The Calgary top 5 (PP1) is close to 100min of PPTOI this season.
Unit #2 is around about 50min of PPTOI. Half.

That's a big difference.
In summary - PP2 doesn't get on the ice if PP1 is scoring. CGY's PP1 will be scoring. They are a top PP unit in the league.

(and Faulk himself is leading PPTOI for the Canes. The top 5 is around 75min this season, with Faulk leading the team at 84.)

Just like in CGY, team's often default that PP1 spot point to the elder/veteran D1.
