The last expansion team was always going to be in the west, now the conferences align. If things go sideways in Arizona or in another western city, they could end up somewhere like Houston or Kansas City. If things go sideways out East (Ottawa, Florida, Carolina) the team goes to Quebec.

I'd say things are already pretty sideways for a couple of those teams, so it's hard to feel optimistic that anything ever changes. I'd love to see Florida or Carolina move to Quebec, and Arizona move to basically anywhere.

I like it, I like it a lot. My suggestion was of course, a joke. I wonder how much it would cost to buy the licensing rights for the Whalers? It would be worth it for them in the long run for sure. Fans would go crazy for the merchandise, even outside of Seattle.

I would seriously consider adopting them as my new favorite team if they became the Whalers. I design logos for a living and that Whalers logo has always been a favorite. That would be awesome.

Vegas Approved June 22, 2016. 1st season was 2017-18 season.
Cap went from 73mill to 75mill between 2016-17 season and 2017-18 season. Didn't see the cap jump
2017-18 season to 2018-19 season went from 75mill to 79.5mill. You saw the cap jump 2 yrs after they were approved.

Seattle approved Dec 4th, 2018. 1st season will be 2021-22. Either we'll see the cap jump in 2020-21 season, or the 2021-22 season.

Hmmm.

Expansion fee + reno's for the arena bring the total payment to around $1.4billion.

First season is 2020-21.
