Can someone shed some light on Alex Formenton for me? Where is he currently in the pecking order for this roster. Thanks.

I would imagine he would be bottom-six. Scott Wheeler posted his projected lineup on Twitter (assuming no NHL players are loaned) and listed Formenton as LW4.

Cam Robinson will do an article later this week and project the lines for Team Canada. Keep an eye on DobberProspects.com for that.

Ian Mitchell played big minutes along side Dobson during the WJ Showcase this summer - damn solid 2-way Dman right there. don't sleep in this guy.

Looking forward to a huge battle between Dip & Scott for #1 in goal.
Dip ofcourse was there last year but Scott has been the best goalie in CHL this year.

Tippett may wind up suspended for the first 2 games of the tournament

    OHL puck-flipping suspensions are ridiculous

...A few days ago, Team Canada hopeful Owen Tippett of the Mississauga Steelheads had a foam puck land at his feet during a game. He then flipped it into the crowd, as one might do. Seems a reasonable response. We're talking about a foam puck, after all. One step up from Nerf. Just slightly heftier than your kitchen sponge.
Yet, apparently where we the people see nothing troubling, the OHL office sees a need for discipline. Recognizing the obvious danger of having an object as hazardous as this squishy disc crash into someone's face at terminal velocity and the likelihood this could shatter their bones leading to a massive lawsuit that could cripple the league, the folks in charge of punitive actions sprung into action and told Tippett to watch the next five games from the press box. As per league policy.

...Tippett only has three games before the world junior tournament where he's seen as a lock for the roster and likely a top-line winger. Meaning he might have to sit for a couple games if the IIHF upholds the suspension

Alex Formenton left tonights scrimmage with a LBI. Hobbled off and looked in pain apparently. Nooot a good start to camp.

Team still has to release one goaltender, three defencemen and four forwards.

Formenton's knee injury takes him out of the tournament. Tippett's OHL suspension revised to 1 game, meaning it won't affect the tournament.

Liam Foudy, Isaac Ratcliffe, Matt Villalta, Pierre Olivier Joseph, Jacob Bernard-Docker, and Nic Beaudin all cut yesterday.

    Defense is set:

    Noah Dobson (R)
    Evan Bouchard (R)
    Ian Mitchell (R)
    Josh Brook (R)
    Ty Smith (L)
    Jared McIsaac (L)
    Markus Phillips (L)

    Goalies are DiPietro and Scott.

One more forward to be cut before Christmas. If Vilardi is healthy enough to play I'd put money on Bowers being the odd man out. I assume most people would think Entwhistle to be the guy on the outside, being the least sexy, but he's an all-situations player and a leader, the team could use him in the bottom lines and penalty-kill.

I'll take Ian Mitchell to rise in responsibility & minutes on the back end as this tourny progresses.
