i recently made that move too. I don't expect anynone to pick him up in the near future - at least not until he can string together a few good starts, which is difficult when you don't start many games.

Raanta is usually more valuable in leagues with GAA & S% than straight wins. FWIW I'd still make that move regardless, but what were your other options?

It's definitely the right move. Edmonton doesn't seem committed to Talbot as their guy right now. No contract either. Raanta is clearly the guy and has the long term deal to ensure it stays that way, barring extended horrible play.

Short answer is - I wouldn't make that move today. Adin Hill already looks better than Raanta and I think he starts tonight so a Raanta pickup is a bit off - unless he starts. Also, Talbot "should" start tomorrow with the Koskinen loss and the Oil will play the woeful Blues giving Talbot a great shot at redemption. Basically, it's a good time to stay put and see how things shake out.

As a Raanta owner this season and last, I would prepare for some frustration. He just can't seem to stay healthy. Great numbers when he plays, but just can't seem to hold it together for an extended period.
