Nylander's Value what is he worth in a multi cat SalCap league?

Assuming he signs in the rumored $7m range, is he really worth it? is it a no brainer to keep him? I can get a decent piece through a trade I'd think.

Doesnt a Mark Stone (who is an available waiver pickup) provide better value than Willie? Lots of $7M forward options out there in a 14 team NHL sal cap league.

I plan to keep Nylander only cause I envision a Mackinnon/Rantanen like pairing in the future (I'd settle for Gaudreau/Monoghan), and im a leaf homer.

I will need to drop Tyler Johnston $5M (or Kadri 4.5M) to activate Nylander. I'd like to see a Nylander cage match with a comparable player.

Question is at what AAV does Nymader become a straight drop?

The problem with Stone is he's going to get 8-9M next summer. If you're just looking at this year though, then trading Nylander for something and picking up Stone is a good option.

I think $8.5 is the maximum I would stretch for Nylander, and even there it's questionable. If he signs for 7M, he provides some solid value. Biggest problem will be if he doesn't get onto PP1 (there's no space right now), then his value is capped.

Well the AAV for 2018 is $10.2M to that just fks up a bunch of Sal Cap Gms holding Nylander, myself included. I had budgeted room up to 8 million, so this is a bad scene.

Looking forward to hsi reaction when he is notified of his trade next year out of Toronto - sours grapes, ya fer sure.

At least theres lots of options on the waiver wire in the 8m range - Stone, Geztlaf is definite possibility.
