Default Coach firings. Who's next and how soon?

We are a quarter of the way into the season. Edmonton, St Louis, Pittsburgh, New Jersey are all under achieving. Chicago and LA have already changed coaches, so who's next?

My favorite has to be Todd McLennan with Mike Yeo a very close 2nd. Quennville is still available, amongst others.

Yeo and McLennan both need to be canned ASAP. After St. Louis got shut out tonight, fans have to be refreshing twitter.

Aside from the ones mentioned...I wonder how long before Sullivan is on the hot seat. Not yet I don't think, but Rutherford isn't afraid to be bold. Hakstol, Carlyle maybe too.

I think McLellan has to right the ship on this California trip or he's in big trouble. He's at the top for me right now.

My bet is on Mike Sullivan to get fired

Pittsburgh is not playing well at all right now
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

I'm thinking that Hakstol has to go soon. Here are my thoughts on Hakstol's progress. 1st year we get knocked out in the first round, but he gets a pass. Next year, we dont make the playoffs at all, interesting, but I think we are making progress. Third year, we lose in the first round again... ****, we are not progressing. This year, on pace to miss the playoffs and missing out on capitalizing on Giroux's prime years. Not happy, we need a change. Hakstol is not getting it done and he has had enough time to make a positive impact. If it hasn't happened by now, it aint happening.

Definitely McLellan (and hopefully Chiarelli at the same time), Sulivan and I think Randy Carlyle is on the hot seat too.

Upper management in Edmonton seem too stupid to address the shit show going on over there. They both should have been gone going into this past off-season.

A lot of people said that about Quenneville too but that didn't happen either. I don't disagree that Upper management has made some head scratching moves. I was hoping bringing in Bob Nicholson would help in that department but so far he's sat on his hands more than most would like.

IDK - I think you are missing the entire Flyers master plan here by expecting things to be a linear increase for Hakstol's team results.

Hextall is very aware that he is pushing the Flyers "best team" down into the future when he traded Brayden Schenn away for Morgan Frost (2017-27oa) and Joel Farabee (2018-14oa).
Also, the team is slowly bringing in their awesome young D. (Ghost, then Provorov, then Hagg, now Sanheim, next year P.Myers).
And Patrick is oozing potential, but last year they could have performed better if they had a more veteran player in that C2 spot.
PHI's still got a bit of dead-weight to expire too... Lehtera this coming summer (2019) and AndyMc next summer (2020).
JVR has also only played 4gp this year. Jeez, we've barely seen PHI's best roster.
There will be no excuses starting 2020-2021 when the entire team cap can be "well spent" Hextall dollars.

There's a master plan here for Flyers... and it is to be a top 3 team in the East in 2020-forward.
Any expectations of continual rise though are missing out on the grand plan.
So I disagree on criticism on Hakstol. He's still orchestrating a plus-shot-differential team.
Keep that going, add a solid goalie, PHI will (Will!) be a top 3 team in the East in just one or two more years.

    Patience young grasshopper, patience.

Flyers take a very patient approach now with growth. It would take something really drastic for them to fire Hak. I'd say Anaheim and Edmonton are the top hot seat guys.
