Cost of EP40

Pettersson is owned in my keep 4 points only pool by a team that values "Name Players".

Would you trade Seguin for Pettersson if my team is contention this season. And I know it will likely be Seguin plus draft picks. Just wondering what the expectations from Pettersson and Seguin are for this season. I had EP40 around 70 pts and Seguin close to the 75-80 pt range.

We can all project EP hitting 80, what-have-you... but he could just as easily hit the rookie wall and his production fall off a cliff.

Seguin, on the other hand is on a pt/gm pace and only has 3 goals, on 82 sog (4.55/gm).

Yea..I'm 10 pts out of 1st place

My current Keep 4 would be McDavid, MacKinnon, Karlsson and likely Seguin. I drafted Aho so I will likely try and trade 2 players (Seguin + Aho) in the off season for a stud

I wouldn't trade Seguin for EP straight up, let alone Seguin+. I also wouldn't expect EP to outpoint Seguin for 2-3 years.

I'm not expecting EP to run with a 1036 PDO (better than McDavid has ever had), a 26.3% shooting percentage (greater than any player with >50 shots since 2015), an 11.4% 5 on 5 shooting percentage, or an 81% IPP for the whole season. Would basically make him better than McDavid.

Keep Seguin.

I get the fact that people are enamored with Pettersson but no one is going to sell him at a reasonable rate. Why would they when people are considering trading Seguin + for him.

I think most have stated the argument already, my two cents, how can you possibly compare a veteran elite scoring player like Seguin with a 19 year old kid who has only played 20 NHL games? Seriously? Not a good idea IMO. Still, it seems to be the nature of fantasy hockey that we gravitate toward doing that exact thing. Keep Seguin.

Wait for Pettersson to continue slowing down then buy him cheaper. He hasn't had a point in four straight and the hype is starting to quiet down.

Seguin + for Pettersson is ridiculous. I wouldn't even trade Seguin straight up for Pettersson.

As much as I like Pettersson, I would keep Seguin for sure.
