Your guess is as good as mine. I saw the play and immediately thought of that. But as we saw the DOPS and the refs are not on the same page so if they issue something, it is yet another instance of: no penalty on the play, dops suspends. I was going to post something similar after the game almost as a joke since I didn’t expect the DoPS to even look at it. I’d say good on them for having some consistency but I’ll wait to see what their verdict is.

Classic. Predictable like Vancouver rain... you would think that after the Matheson play, dops would have issues a memo to the refs to start calling these. But nope, probably not and here we go again with the inconsistency. Seriously, it’s as if the refs were self-employed or worked for another league altogether. This is the only angle I've seen but it looks like Morrissey actually does a bit of a judo-throw using leverage and a foot sweep to choke slam/throw him to the ground. At the end of the day the league has to have as few 'heads slamming off ice' as possible. Morrissey gets his leg right between Oshie's and uses it for leverage. This is going to be a suspension.

Looks like he got a fine, no suspension. I'm okay with it.
I think the Matheson play was worse.
