    .@Mets ace Jacob deGrom named the #NLCyYoung winner. In 2018, he recorded the most strikeouts ever by a pitcher in one season (269) while also recording an ERA of 1.70 or lower

    269ks + an ERA under 1.70 is the record.

    Like no one with a 1.70ERA or below has had more strikeouts than DeGrom.

    Ah - OK, makes sense.
    As my University english reviewer once said "If people can interpret your sentence incorrectly, it probably wasn't well-structured. Fix it."
    (Comment applicable only towards original twitter post. I get it now though.)


    Also - solid summary/reminder on DeGrom's season... which could have been EVEN LOWER in ERA had it not been for one unlucky 5th inning in early April!!!
