Hey all, Talbot was dropped in my league. Should I drop Smith for him? No guarantees I get him as I’m 9th/12 on waiver priority list, but is it worth a shot? Thanks!

Yes, I'd take a shot. He's younger than Smith, and in a similar situation contract-wise, but without a guy playing as well as Rittich.

I like him more than Smith. Oilers will go the way Talbot goes this season and I believe he turns it around.

Talbot is better than the back-up/tandem guys you listed. I traded him a few weeks ago but got Price back in the deal - both tier 2 guys and both clear starters. I’m guessing you noticed - but Dobber, the guy who runs this site and produces the fantasy guide recommends you keep him in the second post on this thread. I’d say be patient.

I don't see Johnson in your Sig but I would drop him for Talbot, if available. I would keep Rittich as I do feel he'll take over Smith for the next little while.

Rittich won’t take over for Smith this year. Smith is getting paid too much and Rittich is really just a replacement level goalie. I’ve watched him play - he’s an average NHL goalie. Unless Smith gets hurt, Rittich is not taking over the starting gig in Calgary.
