He's a disaster right now but can't deny the breakout potential. If you are in win now mode and can fetch a ton to help you get there, do it. Otherwise, hold him as it may be a while before you see his true value. He's been tough to watch this year

On any other team, he would be first line, first pp. Laine is a RFA this year. It ought to be interesting.

His S%'s (personal and 5on5) are down big time while they were probably elevated the previous two years. He's just having bad luck right now while he enjoyed good luck previously. He is actually shooting more this year which is a good sign.

If you correct for the S%'s, he's closer to a 70-75 point pace this year, which is what I think you should expect from him in a normal year.

I really hope this time on the 3rd line and poor deployment outside of the PP will ignite a fire under his ass so he can finish the season with 120 points. If not then were moving winnipeg jets to finland and theyre only allowed to play home games so he can score hattys for days.

So, without claiming he's available for trade, someone just offered me Jamie Benn for him.

It's a 12 teams, 14 keepers, points only league that's got this season and 3 more years remaining before new universal draft.

Which will bring Benn to 33 years old and Laine to 24.

Who makes more points in the next 4 seasons (including this one) combined?

Putting Laine on the block is the ultimate panic move. Sit on him and wait for his burst in production, it's coming.

He has looked a little more interested the last couple of games. Likely why Maurice put him back on the second line. I like him playing with Connor. Still like to see him with a better centre than Little, but we take what we can get.

As I said, I like Laine playing with Connor. I hope they stick together. After last nights game Maurice should keep them together for a while at least. A hat trick, all at even strength (ok one in an empty net.

That is a bit of the stuff Laine owners have been waiting for.
