Barrie or Karlsson?

Barrie till Nov 23, Karlsson from then on.

Karlsson looked like Karlsson last night vs the Leafs, pinching at the right times and such. He's close to turning the corner, but I still think they both end up roughly the same points at the end of the year (+/- 10pts of each other)

Karlsson 60-70pts
Barrie 50-60pts.

he did have two apples last night, 1 on the PP with 4 sog & 25+min TOI. It's buy low time on EK - not sell low. Buckle up for a large second half.

Let's not forget Girard is nipping at PP1 time. In full disclosure, I did just trade Barrie (who I could keep next season) 5.5m for Suter (who I can keep for next 2 seasons) 7.8m... Barrie for Suter. I'll let that sink in.

It always was and will be Karlsson. That said, I think we can safely say Barrie is a 60-point Dman on this current Avalanche team. 57 points in 68 GP last year, and now 20 points in 23 GP this season, scoring at a 70-point pace since the beginning of last year. Even seeing almost 2 fewer minutes per game, and Girard stealing PP1 minutes he's nearly point-per-game at the 1/4 mark of the season. His peripherals are junk and he won't reach EK's point totals, but he's definitely a solid high-end no.2 in most leagues.

Looks like I made the move at the right time, but they're both pretty good and comparable
