Default Trade or Waive Rittich (Will rep)

I'm rebuilding, with four 1sts this year and having a huge sell-off for prospects in the summer. However, Rittich is killing me right now and I'm sitting 4-2, which obviously isn't great for a rebuild. Is he for real or just hot right now? Worded differently, should I waive him into the minors (our league has three waiver passes per season where you can send anyone down and they can't be claimed) or try and trade him for picks/prospects while he's so hot?

League in signature, as always thanks so much for your help!

The issue is that he's killing your tanking by playing too well, and possibly stealing a starting job, right? Given your goaltending, that's not exactly a problem - you're going to need one.

Given the process you intend to follow, I think you should probably demote him to have the option to use him when you plan on trying. He may not win the job however, and that comes with risk. I am guessing you can still trade him when he's demoted.

You could sell him, hoping to land a pick or picks which you can use to get another goalie prospect which might pan out in the future timeline you have planned. However, might be safest to demote first.
