11 minutes last game? 3rd line? Guy is a sniper. Completely mishandled. He needs to be paired with a decent centre/playmaker.

He has 8 goals. 7 on the PP. His numbers at even strength are abysmal.

It's not that Laine is being mishandled, he's actually playing like straight up crap. Outside of standing in the circle taking one timers on the powerplay he has contributed absolutely nothing 5on5. He doesn't drive play or battle for pucks. He has dragged down every line he's been on because his linemates have to change their whole style to adapt to Laine and it makes more work for them. He floats and waits for the setup while his linemates work their tails off.

I'm holding Laine because he's got a high ceiling still and it's a keeper league but just be forewarned that he is a work in progress and will be for a while unless he changes his game drastically. If you can't afford to carry him around for another year or so wait for him to go hot again and maybe try and sell. The kid is a project.

If you could get a proven guy that has lost favor (Stamkos is a good example) or an older guy like Malkin for Laine, I would make that trade. The Jets are one of the few teams that has the luxury of being patient with a slumping player even one with as much talent as Laine.
