The question is could Mr. Chad Johnson overtake that cheese of a goalie Jake Allen? Second solid start for Johnson(shutout last night) seems that the coach will continue to ride him at least for the little while, BUT could Johnson actually take the starting job?

Well, last year, Hutton had steal the starting job from Allen si why not Johnson?

We have seen a lot of goalies take the reigns over Allen.....Johnson will run with it for a while I think. I just dropped Labanc for him myself. Hoping something comes out of it because I own Murray, Desmith, Luongo and Lehner.

Glad I stuck with him, threw a ton of McDavid + St Louis goalies to a bunch of GMs and no one wanted to touch Allen with a 2 ft pole..... now after normalization and 4-5 decent games by St. Louis it's not looking too bad.

Personally I think Hutton is a much better goalie than Chad Johnson. I don't think he'll be able to sustain this play but he's a good short-term fix.

Agree..we saw this with Johnson in Buffalo. Flashes of being solid for a week or two. There is a reason why some guys are career back ups why not take the ramblings suggestion and ride DeSmith?Originally Posted by ericdaoust

That's about his last tenure in Buffalo, but what about his previous back in 15-16 season? He played 45 games(started 40) 22wins, 16 loses with 2.36 GAA (!) and .920 SV%. I don't remember what was the situation back then, but this looks like a solid performance from someone who is capable of being a starter?!

Chad was waived this morning and Jordan Binnington has taken his place. Maybe Arizona picks him up?
