I desperately need some goaltending help... do I make this trade? - Rep Given - Time's tickin

My Seguin, Palmeiri and Varlamov for his B. Point, Gallagher and S. Bobrovsky

Yahoo 7 Man Roto League. Settings and my Roster is below. I'm totally getting whopped on Goalie cats here with Quick on IR and Price and Varlamov being very inconsistent to the point where I'm just streaming goalies (Howard, Rittich). Do I make this trade? It helps me diversify a little bit from Dallas since I have Benn and Radulov as well... but how big of an upgrade is Bobrovsky over Varlamov.. and is it worth downgrading Seguin to B. Point? (Loss of SOG, etc)

Bobrovsky is a huge upgrade on Varlamov. I think the downgrade from Seguin to Point is a reasonable enough price to pay. How do Gallagher & Palmieri compare in your league?

Very comparable. Both get hits, Gally gets more shots, similar ranks right now. I could also just drop him for E Lindholm who I’ve had my eye on the wire for since I think I’ll be okay with Hits

Didn't Varlomov have just about the best stats in the league before his last couple of games?


How is Bobs better than Varlomov?

Bobrovsky 2.90 GAA .909 SPCT 5 wins

Varlamov 2.38 GAA .927 SPCT 4 wins

Am I missing something? Varlomov's numbers are superior except for wins.

With those cats I'd keep Seguin.

I like trying to sell high on Palm if you can, but Varlamov isn't that bad. If you really want to make up ground in those 4 of 14 stat categories, you could stream some solid backups to help your ratios (2 of those 4 cats).

In a 7 team I'd imagine Saros or DeSmith are available? Maybe try to buy low on Raanta while he's injured? I'd try to swap Howard in a trade before he implodes.

Thanks for all the responses, with being almost last in goalie cats I went ahead and made the trade. Goalies are fickle but I like Bob a lot more than Varly long term. It sucks giving up Seguin but I feel B. Point isn't a massive downgrade to the extent where I can't make up the difference. It also helps me diversify from having all three Dallas Stars on the same line. I'm currently streaming DeSmith and will probably pick up Darling if he continues to produce at a decent rate. Cheers!

Point is a downgrade from Seguin, so think it's a fairly balanced trade
