He will go on unconditional waivers and may continue playing in the Czech Republic.

Well, that clears up $3.5M off my cap hit in the UHL. Too bad, I actually wanted him to give me a nice boost in the FOW category. I wasn't expected much for offense from him but the FOWs were a nice bonus.

All the best to him. I am sure he's glad he got to retire on his terms and as a Hab.

Broke 1000 games played, although only had 984 with Montreal. Cool of the team to bring him back just long enough to at least hit that benchmark.

I wouldn't have brought him back just for that. Scherbak could have used those games and Plekanec's roster spot caused de la Rose to be put on waivers.

I was a bit surprised when Montreal brought him back, I thought he'd be an offseason a drop in the dynasty team I took over. Kept him for maybe a week, and realized he wasn't helping.

Another bad manuever by the GM, but if it made some of the fans happy, it would've been okay - except the part about having to lose somebody on waivers. You've got to know that signing him for a 1 month retirement tour means that you need to leave yourself a roster spot/contract.
