Stamkos on the Block

The owner of Stamkos has put him on his trade block, he is looking for 'shiny toys and picks' (quote) but he is a multi time winner of our league and knows his stuff, so you can't blind side him. He is currently 3rd in the league, I am 11th but there are 5 of us tied on points and it is early in the season.

This is for the league in my sig, any suggestions on what I could offer?? Do I even need to go after him or am I letting the name value get me excited??

Stamkos isn't the elite stud he used to be. sharing the puck more in TB but he's still a valued. That said I have a feeling this guy wants the Stamkos value of the glory days so even though he knows those days are gone.
I would still offer anyone here (maybe he wants some youths to replace his farm?)

So my league is reading this thread, great, now I can't even get any help in here, oh well.

Been offered Stamkos for my Nylander.

I think I should decline as Nylander has more years ahead of him and we don't know where he is going to end up yet, so not the time to sell, am i right or should i take the offer?? Someone help me I am rubbish at trades.

You get Stamkos for William Nylander? I would take that trade for you everyday. Stamkos is proven, even his worst years are similar or better than what Nylander has proven.

I would take it. Stamkos is only 28, and should be playing with Kucherov for years to come. Nylander is young, but we don't know what he will be going forward, he has put up two 61pt seasons beside a top center...I don't see the production increasing if he gets traded elsewhere, and if it does then it will be increasing INTO a range that is the norm for stammer already.

Nylander 1:1 for Stammer is a deal you need to accept before the other owners re-read this thread and offer something else!

Agree, as a Stamkos owner myself, I think you have to accept. I would not accept Nylander 1-1 for my Stamkos.

For the record, I do not think Stamkos is worth his glory days return, but if you remember his glory days return could net you almost any player in the league on a good day. If I remember correctly there were discussion’s of Stamkos v. Crosby and Stamkos being the younger of the 2 and Crosby in his prime. (Not that I think that was fair necessarily 1-1).

Now, Stamkos’ real value to a team (if healthy) far exceeds his trade value I think. He’s the perfect add/own in a win now setting especially if he has a RW eligibility and is healthy. There are seriously few true ppg options out there in fantasy and at 28 yo, next to Kuch and Tampa likely to score 280+ goals for the next few years he’s going to be in that range for a 3 year window at least with a threat to continue longer if he continues his development to a set up guy who can score 25 goals in his age 32-34 yr - look at Getzlaf/Thornton

He came back to me and offered Rittich (Cgy G) in addition to Stamkos, so I took the deal.
