New section. Nice.

Thinking of my office box-pool, who will be the best goalie this year if goalies points equals wins + shut-outs.

Top 3 should be:
Luongo, Brodeur, Kipper

Not sure about the order tho. All I know is that I wouldn\'t bet on Brodeur having as many SO this year. I think losing Rafalski will effect the defensive core as he was anchor. So that being said, I think Luongo/Kipper/Brodeur would be the tops. Also, keep in mind of Fleury and Nabbie. They\'ll put up some decent wins 37-40ish. Not sure how many SO they will have tho.

The reason I ask is last year I thought \"Brodeur is finally ready for a step back\" and then the sets new record in everything. Still, having not learned my lesson I still don\'t want to pick him this year.

I was even thinking that Lundqvist deserves some consideration.

Id say take Luongo/Lundvist/Broduer

You are gonna see HUGE amounts of wins outta lundvist and luongo, less wins but more shutouts out of broduer.

In that setup. I\'d go Brodeur, Loungo, Emery.

They still don\'t have any body to take over for him but they have lost some guys, so he falls to number 3 for me...I think Calagry reverting back to a more defensive style that gave them such success before, will make Kipper one to look at as well.
I wouldn\'t put too much into Lundquist...although the wins should be there, the Rags D is not very good...

Best goalie for wins and shutouts, no other considerations? Luongo kinda stands alone here I think - I like what the Nucks have cobbled together in front of him and he is a superb goaltender and an absolute horse - 49 wins? It could happen for him. Kipper and Brodeur would be my next two in order.

Your draft position will be a factor. There are several others I would happily take instead if the draft allowed me to get away with a goaltender of quality in the 2nd round - Lundie, Emery, Miller, Nabbie, Giggie, Fleury will all post decent numbers for you. I would struggle to by-pass a top 3 stud skater in the first round to grab Luongo first when the depth in quality goaltending is pretty good.

I don\'t know if he\'ll be top 3 in wins this year but I think Nick Backstrom will be near the top in GAA, SV% and SO\'s again this year. I\'d rank him above Lundqvist, Giggy, Emery and DEFINATELY Fleury in these categories for sure.

If Nabokov remains motivated and healthy this year then he\'ll have top 3 stats in the league.

Yeah I think you are onto something there Doulos - near the end of last season he was smoking hot for the most part - I rode him on the pines a couple of times where he should have been in the line-up - trying to juggle Lundie and Giggie and him with only 2 starts a day was a challenge.

I think the Sharks D will show some more maturity this year which should only help Nabbies numbers.

Giguere - Bryzgalov will be traded and Giguere will get more work than usual.

Kiprusoff - The Flames have upgraded their D.

Brodeur - It\'s Brodeur.

----------------------------------------

I think Vancouver is going to miss the playoffs this season. I don\'t think they\'ll win as many games as last season.

Hasek is another option if you don\'t have blood pressure issues.

Luongo, Kipper, Fleury, Broudeur. NJ\'s division is much stronger this year, and did you see Brodeur in the playoffs. The secret is out after all these year, shoot high glove side!!!!!!!

I think the top goailes would be
Luongo
Lundqvist
Brodeur
Miller
Lehtonen
Fleury
Hasek if stays healthy for the full season like last year because he knows this is his last seaosn in the NHL so I think he will play even better then what he did last season.
