    Default Jack Campbell going forward

I remember this guy was considered to have a pretty bright future a few years back, and then I hadn't heard much since.

LA is a crap team that in my opinion is in line for a rebuild.

What do you guys think of Campbell going forward? Is he an attractive option or a potential keeper?

I don’t think he’s a keeper but I also don’t think the Kings are as bad as people say they are. I think he’s worth taking chance on and he’s looked pretty solid so far. And with Quick’s injury history, he’s worth the gamble IMO

He looked great last night. With the coaching change/line changes the teams looks to be playing better. With 2 GAA and a .932 SV% he’s a great option. I’m not sure he’s a keeper tho. Definitely worth playing him for sure tho.

Been monitoring this lad. Campbell looks pretty solid, had a mediocre start (1 shutout in alot of losses) but his last few played have been pretty stellar, plus he got an assist and almost a 2nd one last night!

Would you take Campbell over Darling? RoS, 2 pt per W/SO

Another thing to consider, is that Campbell likely gets almost every start between now and Quick coming back (barring Campbell sh@#ing the bed). Usually teams ride back ups pretty hard when the starter is out with an injury. Means lots O' games played for Campbell.

I would drop Darling for Campbell.

I think he's one of many interchangeable goalies in the NHL. Could be a starter on a bad team like he is now, could be a backup, could be in AHL. I don't see him as a keeper in a 10-team league.

When Quick returns, he will get most starts. I don't see Campbell replacing him. Quick should be back in December.

if it's a limited keeper - no he shouldn't be in consideration. He only has short term value, when Quick returns, the net is Quicks. The only potential exception is a Hamburglar level run between now and that return date. If he can go 10-0, likely LA runs him.

He's only a keeper option if he plays well, and Quick is hurt badly enough to give him the crease for most of the rest of the season.

He is a reasonable option to have on your roster, though. Who knows when Quick will be back, and for how long this time.

So far Campbell is doing good as a starter, but don't forget that there is a guy named Peter Budaj We are know what he did 2 years ago. He's still there and I don't think that Campbells job is safe until Quick comes back.

Cal Petersen was called up today according to the AHL transactions page. Did I miss something over the weekend? Maybe this is just a paper transaction like Demko's "call-up" last year?
