That worked out pretty well for them. Tomorrow against the Leafs may be ugly though.

It didn't really "work out" for Vegas, they were just able to limit the damage while playing seriously subpar guys in their net. Also, this is not close to being Vegas yet. Imagine if both Budaj and Petersen got hurt... then we're talking Vegas.

They are 1 injury away from Vegas territory really. But Vegas injuries weren't this long term were they? But Fleury did have a concussion, so his injury was foggy at when he'd return.

Will Peterson has a chance for the starting job ahead of Budaj?

Of course, but very slim chance I think.

I imagine they'll try to bring someone else in to play with Budaj, Mason and Lehtonen come to mind as free agents.

They play the Leafs tomorrow and then a back-to-back against Chicago and Nashville starting Friday. Maybe Petersen will get to start against the Blackhawks if no moves are made.

Peterson is backing up until Friday/Saturday where he's likely getting the Friday game. Here's the Kings schedule:

    13th - Vs Leafs
    16th - @Chicago
    17th - @Nashville

    19th - @ Blues
    21st - vs Colorado
    24th - vs Vancouver
    25th - vs Edmonton

    27th - @ Vancouver
    29th - @Edmonton
    30th - @Calgary

    3 B2B over the next 18 days.
