Default Couturier or Kadri - pick one

looking to flip Kadri for Couturier. I like Couturier long term, he'd be on my bench.

Couts: slow start, great deployment, seems like a matter of time before he's back to normal. even if he doesn't match last year's numbers should be decent.

Kadri: Matthews injury should open up a decent run from him. Once Nylander returns he'll get keep up the better linemates. other manager is a Leafs homer too.
14 team Keeper Points only - limited starting roster moves
    Start: 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 3G
    C: Vilardi, Dvorak, Karlsson
    LW: Vrana, Hertl, Mangiapane
    RW: Kubalik, Point, Tuch
D: Ty Smith, Hughes, Burns, Hronek
    G: Shesterkin, Varlamov, Vanacek
    BENCH
Kakko, Turcotte, Sharangovich, Vilardi, Beckman, Perfetti, Lysell, Sillinger, McTavish
    Drysdale, Perunovich, R.Merkley, Fagemo

    What is normal for Couturier? 39, 37, 39, 34, 76

So what changed to give him such a boost in points totals last year?
    - average ice time went up: 19:05, 18:23, 18:36, 18:27, 21:36 - sign for positive production
    - S totals went up: 165, 148, 119, 120, 227 - sign for positive production
    - S% went up: 7.9, 10.1, 9.2, 11.7, 13.7 - not a good sign that he can maintain the totals
    - OiSH% went up: 8.3, 9.3, 9.2, 9.3, 13.1 - not a good sign that he can maintain the totals
    - time in the offensive end remained the same
    - played on top line with better players
Based on that, I expect him to be better than 35-40 points, but not 76. Put him in the middle around 55-60.

Kadri on the other hand, I won't go into the same details, but he seems to be 55-60 as well, but with a better history.

It's a tough one. I would like to see Coutourier do it again before committing, it's hard to believe even though there are positive factors there. Although Coutourier is somehow only turning 26 this year (I had to doublecheck that, couldn't believe it) so you do get an age bonus and him coming into his prime while Kadri is leaving it.

After doing the analysis, I couldn't fault you either way.

Deployment will be a key factor in this one. Kadri is going to see better deployment than he has for the first month until Matthews is back and should see an uptick in production.

Couturier is getting big minutes and PP1. I don't see that changing despite the lack of production.

My pick is Kadri until Matthews is back (however long that takes) then couturier after that. If the production matters now if wait and offer the trade in a month. But you risk the buy low window on couturier closing if he picks it up.

Can't argue with any of that logic.
