    Default Olofsson vs Borgstrom (rep)

Is there a clear better pts league player here?
Who has the best chance to do really well in the NHL by this year or next?
Olofsson is ripping up the AHL in the early goings...
    Borgstrom 4th on prospects list.
Olof didn't even make the list.

    thanks

Borgstrom by a wide margin. I've been watching both of them a lot and Olofsson's explosion in the AHL doesn't surprise me.

So his explosion is temporary is what you are saying? Borgstrom will rip it up in the NHL next year?

Bergstrom has been a top prospect for a while where as Olofsson is just becoming a known commodity.

    Borgstrom for me.

Olofsson can rip up the AHL as much as he wants, that doesn't make him a better prospect than Borgstrom. Borgstrom has better tools, he's two years younger, and it's not like he's been bad either - 6 points in 4 games.

Borgstrom would be my pick here.
Keeper's league, points only, 24 teams league Skaters: 1 pt for goal and 1 pt for assist, Goalie, 2 pts for win, + 2 pts for SO

Opportunity definitely plays a role here as well, also if you're looking for more of a long-term project or not.

Borg has the better skillset, in my mind as well as most others. He's got a ton of competition for any kind of meaningful minutes in Flordia though. He's not playing C in the top six, Trocheck/Barkov got that on lockdown for years and years. So if they convert him to a wing, he's competing with Herberdon't, Hoffman, Dadanov, Bjugstad and fellow prospects Tippet/Heponiemi. It will also be hard for him to crack the 1st pp unit there. Best case scenario is he wins out against other wings and gets a top six wing spot, or he's playing on the 3rd line as a C/W for a couple of years potentially with some 2nd pp minutes sprinkled in.

Top six in Buffalo is a lot more fluid, Eichel is only lock on 1st unit and Skinner and for the most part Reinhart are only locks in that top six for wings. Mittlestadt will own that 2nd line C spot in time, not sure if it's now though, Olof can't play C so irrelevant, but that leaves two W spots in top six open for him to grab, one potentially next to Eichel. Okposo/Pomminville/Sheary is pretty much his only competition right now for the job, with Nylander a fellow prospect who could occupy a spot. Plus that 1st unit PP is fairly fluid too, Eichel and Risto only mainstays for most part there, I'd argue Skinner is likely a mainstay there now as well.

TLDR; Borgstrom has more skill, much less easy path to meaningful minutes in the NHL. Olofsson looks good and looks to have a nose for the net, not as much pedigree as Borgy nor the skillset, much less competition for meaningful minutes in the NHL though ie; top six/1st unit pp.
