Trading away Mittelstadt

Hey guys I received this offer for the team and league in my sig. I made a pretty big trade on draft day sending my Pettersson and Monahan for Crosby. This deal significantly impacted my teams youth and put me full on into a win now mentality. Now the same GM that I made that trade is after my Mittelstadt. Top end prospects seam to hold extremely high value in my league even when they are unproven. He has offered Bailey and Steele for my Hayes and Mittelstadt. He also would like me to include a 1 round pick upgrade such as a 4th for a 5th. How confident are you that Bailey will be a able to put up similar numbers to last season? Does Mittelstadt have star potential or is the upside between him and Steele close enough that I shouldn't worry about it. I currently have Mittelstadt on my prospect list where he can remain until hitting the 82 game threshold. Do I smash the except button as hard and as fast as I can or do I hold out and sit on Mittelsadt. I should also mention that I'm currently only 2 points out of 1st place and barring significant injuries should be In contention all season with my current roster.

I'd avoid this one. Bailey isn't really an interesting piece at all, and you're downgrading a bunch going from Mittelstadt to Steel. He's just trying to buy low after a slow start for the young center. Pass.

If you can trade Monahan + Pettersson for Crosby, I'm sure you can hold on Middle and get a better deal when he goes off for a 5 game stretch.

I'm really surprised about the responses, I thought that it would be closer. Is it more so because Mittelstadt is going to be elite or that Bailey is just not that impressive or a little of both? I was really close to accepting this deal thinking that Bailey is a significant upgrade to Hayes (which helps me now) and thinking that Mittelstadt is marginally better than Steele.

Pass. Bailey is a wild card, could be great or just an average player this season. Mitts is gonna be really good soon. You’ll be kicking yourself in the future if you accept this one.

Mittelstadt for Bailey and Hayes for Steele. If you are close to top 3, it might be worth the move. Otherwise Rental Bailey isn't worth losing Mittelsadt for Steele.
