Should I start Murray tomorrow?

If Andersen is not playing tomorrow, Murray could get a W.
But, it's really scary to start him after a concussion against a firepower team.

This week is so close on all the cats, so I can not screw up my goalies.
Let me know your thoughts on Murray tomorrow.

I wouldn't start any goalie against Leafs at this stage. 4+ goals a game and Murray hasn't been good in the first 2 games.

I would guess tomorrow's game will be very high scoring 7-5, 6-4 etc

Murray is really pretty unreliable game to game when he's not coming off injury or playing a high powered opponent. I wouldn't start him against anyone tomorrow, but if I had to pick the worst team to start him against, it would be Toronto.

He's been bad, he's coming off an an injury, and the Penguins are possibly going to get into a scoring race if Sparks isn't up to the task and Andersen doesn't play.

Full disclosure, I'm starting him in the league (not in sig) where I have him. Partly because I need a start to meet minimum starts, and I'd like to reach that number. Partly because I'd have to demote a useful skater to my minors, and call up another goalie to fill the spot to get a start, and that would be Sparks if he plays.

I'm a Murray owner and I'm not going anywhere near this start. Gotta play the odds here. The odds are heavily in favor of this game being high scoring. I'm hoping he goes out and plays great just to see that he's alright but that's it.

I was coming out to post how wrong I was. I failed to notice the one thing that should've told me he might do this: I was facing the guy starting Murray in the league (in my sig) I get shut out in regularly. It's one game of record per week per player, and you get one goalie's save%.

I lead the league all-time in shutouts faced, and am well over double the next team's total. This league is over years old, and as a bonus, I never ever faced Roy or Hasek in their careers. It's week 3, and I will have faced 2 shutouts this year, and last week, my fiancee changed her lineup or she would've had Rinne's shutout against me.

It's going to be a long year if I can't get some decent luck.

Ya. That's a pretty crazy outcome. I'd say I'm gonna stop giving advice after that one but things like that are the reason we play fantasy sports. If we were always correct it wouldn't be as fun in the end.

Disagree it's not black and white. If you're in a tough matchup like myself and you already have GAA and SV% locked up for the week. GAA 1.00 and SV%.970.....im not sending any goalie out against the Leafs but especially not one who had terrible stats prior to getting a concussion and is just returning. Murray was more likely to go out there and take a crap all over those cats. He just happened to do the opposite.

Depends on your categories. If it's all or mostly rate stats like SV% & GAA without wins or saves, Penguins goalies are unreliable game to game, and if you are ahead, it can be tough to take chance on wrecking things.
