I would keep the proven elite goal scorer Laine.
Is Svechnikov will be as good as Laine in next 10 years ? I'm in a multicats league and could get Svechnikov for my Laine. I will also get Butcher in the trade.
Right now, both are equal in my league, and I know Svech have tons of potential. The advantage of that trade, is that I won't need to protect Svech next year during a steal draft, cause he will be under 100 gp.

I would keep the proven elite goal scorer Laine.
Laine is only 20 and has 80+ NHL goals already. He is way ahead of Svech and hasn't even begun to hit his ceiling. There's no reason to make this trade IMO, it's a trap a lot of keeper league managers fall into of chasing the next new toy before the guys they're trading away have even gotten going.

Are you planning this team for the next 10 years??? Wow, you are committed.
I have Svech in two leagues........but not a chance I trade Laine for this at this point in his career.
Are you all still on Laine side ?...

I think at the time Laine was the right call. It's up in the air now and I could see most siding with Svech. These two could be battling with Matthews and Pasta for the Rocket trophy over the next 10 years. Tough to go wrong with either.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I would go with svech. he plays with better players and I feel like he's a boom
31 TEAMS keep all multi-cat (lot of them) dynasty
Offensive stats : Goals, Assist , PPP, PPTOI, SOG...
Defensive stats : PKTOI, BLKS, TakeAway, Giveaway...
(basically best NHL player)
This was a funny thread, I didnt see the dates until it was mentioned, and I was very confused with the consensus. In a multicat league, I think I would lead to Svech, however, Laine could all of a sudden start popping 50 goal seasons.
