apparently he hit matheson and embarrassed him like two plays before hand and matheson didn't like that. that's what the announcers in the recap were saying. pretty ugly and stupid play.

He also scored past Matheson earlier which Im sure added to Matheson's frustration. Skill meets brawn, brawn wins I guess.
It was a dick move, the hit would have been enough because he did paste him pretty good. Then also threw him down on the ice and that is when Petterson hit his head quite hard. Definitely a concussion.

He's out 7 to 10 days with a concussion. Won't be a popular take but maybe he needed another season to mature. Clearly he has the skill but it looked like big brother at 10 years old, slamming his kid brother at 6. It was a dirty play but there was 0 resistance from Petterson.
