Necas for O' Reilly...?
I was offered Necas for my Ryan O' Reilly straight up. its a cap league, with auction style salaries. Necas is the league minimum, with O' Reilly being almost double that. I need some help on what Necas projects to be, and how soon he can become an impact player in Carolina? I am rebuilding, so I won't be competing this season or next.

Yes, Very important question. ROR is one of the best guys to own in a league with face-off stats. If it is a weekly H2H league he is even more valuable.Originally Posted by lucafen4

I'd also consider your win window? ROR is tied to VT for now. And that included PP1 for the Blues.

Face-off stats are currently at question as ROR isn?t getting the same minutes and deployment as in Buffalo behind Eichel. BUT, ROR?s role has changed for the better. In no way does Necas = ROR value now. ROR is currently L1 - PP1 in STL and Necas is well nothing really.
If you?re dying for future value now and looking to compete in 2020 this makes sense. Otherwise, not at all

How long do you have ROR at his salary at and when does Necas' salary come due for change?
Also, adding your league categories helps too, along with the rest of your roster. I know you say you are rebuilding but it never hurts to offer as much info as you possibly can.
I like Necas a lot and I do see him as a top six forward down the road but ROR can be pretty valuable too.

Salary cap league or not, that is a horrible offer. Keep ROR.

If Necas does surpass ROR in value it won?t be this year or likely the next two. BUt think he eventually wil. However he?s still a prospect and things can still go off the rails so the trade doesn?t make sense based on that risk. That risk is why prospects usually come in packages for vets like ROR. As highly rated as Necas is, you should still require another piece at least for fair ROR value.

I'd keep ROR - Necas won't out produce him for at least 3 years and if face offs are a stat in your league even more reason to keep ROR
