Back in action tonight, and scored a goal.
What are your projections for him this year? (if stays healthy of course)

Worth an add in a multi-cat league over some other waiver options like Sheary, Niederreiter, Beauvillier, Vrana, Wilson, Baertschi, Palat?

I have him in both my leagues. I will take Kesler over any of the above mentioned.
It's tough to project a player who had a down year last year because of an injury
and we don't know if he is 100% even now... or if he will be the old Kesler again. It depends also of Getzlaf's situation - if Kesler is the top center in Anaheim he could be a 65(even 70) points player I think.

What about Kesler over Schenn or Trochek in a one-year league?

    (league details in signature)
    Cheers!

I would like to think definitely not. Kesler is riskier and in a less stable position than both of those

Point projection for Kesler? Dobber has him really low, but feel like that was based off of a longer time out and playing like he did last year when he came back. Only 1 game, but have read good things

even at full health, I take Schenn/Troch over Kesler in a 1yr league. Only situation is if you count FOW - then I'd slide Kesler between them - Troch being 1st option.

    In your settings. Troch-Schenn-Kesler

Kesler owners need to be happy with 50+pts from him this year... he'll provide solid peripheral coverage as will Schenn/Troch, just don't expect a high point total. He's a risky player - perhaps the riskiest own of them all right now.

I would peg Kesler around 45-50 points with great peripherals.

Picked him up in a league counting shots, hits, blocks. I would say 40-50 point pace with good peripherals.

No one expected Kessler to be back so soon. Pick him up while you can.

    Solid multicat depth option.

Need to keep in mind that his hip troubles are related to arthritis. That's not going to get better. I forget whether it was the coach or GM that said it, but the plan is for him to get some days off this year - maybe even prolonged times to rest if they're doing alright as a team. That should knock down expectations a bit right there.

I don't think he's a guy we'll see play 82 games again, but miracles do happen.

When your GM is saying things like, 'we want to ensure he's able to play with his kids when he retires' (paraphrasing) you know there's trouble. He'll need a hip replacement pretty early in life and you can only do that a couple times.

I think Kesler and the team are very aware that his situation is tenuous at best.

Kesler right now is basically what people wish David Backes still was.

Yeah, I would really temper expectations with Kesler. He'll fill the stat sheet well but he's going to probably have some games off. He honestly has never been the same since that playoff push with Vancouver when he played through that hip/groin issue.

I love me some Kesler in multi cat leagues, especially those with F/O wins, but just a heads up to those who pick him up he may be a healthy scratch some games.

Seems like he's going to center the second line with Rakell and Cogliano and playing on the second PP unit.
