Hi everyone,

I apologize for my poor 'search' abilities, but I couldn't find a thread that was similar.

We recently folded our 13 yr auction salary cap keeper league and wanted to reboot it with one that used AAV as salary instead of the bids from our auction.

We were thinking of starting year 1 off with a $1000 auction for a roster of 4LW/C/RW, 6D, 2G and a bench of 6 players with an AAV cap of $100million (this is close to what the average would have been for a team in our old league).

On an annual basis, we would like to implement a keeper system where teams can keep an arbitrary % of the AAV cap - say 50% or $50million. However, the question becomes do they continue to have a $1000 auction budget or should it be reduced based on the number of players or the AAV kept?

Does anyone have a similar setup? How do the subsequent auctions play out? Or is there usually a draft in subsequent years?

Any other considerations for starting up an AAV salary league?
