What a rip he's on. 5 assists, 10 sog and 7 hits in the first 3 games. Talk about making an entrance haha. Doesn't look like he's getting PP time though.

I picked him up off our waiver draft and everyone was like "who? We watch a lot of hockey and it's a bad sign if none of us have heard about him." I was like "well nobody heard about McDavid until they heard about him." Very happy to have him on my team so far.

I think he will have a hard time getting on PP1 because Coach Q always defers to the slow, declining vets, but at some point he might force his hand and get an opportunity there. Can you believe the Hawks are something like 0-10 on the PP to start the season? If Joker ends up getting a shot and the PP snaps to life maybe he can ride it out long term. They will have to try something different soon enough because 0-10 is a joke.
I grabbed him in my league as well, worth the gamble on a bottom D spot until I get Krug back and if he keeps up fairly steady production or gets that PP chance he could be a steal.

Getting on PP1 is one thing, but with the game on the line last night he was on the ice for both the Hawks game-tying goals late - assisting Kane on both of the goals. He's comfortable with the puck on his stick, playing in all situations, and the coach trusts him already. That's saying something for Quenneville. This kid is absolutely the real deal, stepping into 20-minutes per game role already.

Any other thoughts? It looks like Phaneuf is getting marginalized in LA so I might make the swap. I don't imagine I have much time left as he's soaring to the top of the transactions trends list on Yahoo.
