Waiver draft coming up.. need help!

For league in sig, first waiver draft is tonight. We lost two gm's so the FA pool is pretty deep. I will be picking No.5... who should I pick? Which player should bring the best value with my 2nd pick, 14th overall?

I am currently 1.5M$ over the cap, but planning on dropping Giordano (6.75), Stastsny (7.5) and maybe Smith(6) depending on the strategy i use... i wonder if i better go with Barzal at 0.833 for the next two years or aim for a sure producer like kane/benn/kuznetsov who should be available at #5.

Also considering a pick like Burns since my D could use some help.

Barzal - then Marner should be your pick at #5 ELC's and 80+pt potential? Man, that's money in the bank. literally. you can't do better than that in a cap league. There's just no way to suggest who to take at #14 as someone, more than someone is going to go off the board or everyone listed will get snatched.

thats the way to go but the top 4 may be thinking that too. look at Helly for 7M of Seguin for this year then trade if you don't want cap hit

Thanks for the advice! 3 of the 4 gms ahead a me have a lot of cap space so I see them pick Seguins, Eichel, etc.

Just as a heads up... here is how the night went for my team:

The league decided to do "lottery pick" at every round of the waiver draft since it was a special one. I ended up with the first overall, and McDavid was on the table.

Had no choice but to pick him, going completly off from the strategy of drafting young prospects.

Here are my picks
1) McDavid for Stastny
2) Eichel for Rielly Smith
3) Hischier for Dvorak
4) Pulock for Giordano
5) Steel for Suter
6) Svechnikov for Bjorkstrand
7) Kessel for Galchenyuk

And i traded my Huberdeau and Brayden Schenn for Artemi Panarin ( I was going to drop Schenn for cap space).

I am pretty happy how the draft went overall even if the initial strategy went down the toilet after 5 minutes into the draft.
