ESPN IR designations?

Is anybody else having the issue of not being able to stash guys on the IR?

everyone... that's because teams normally don't place players on IR until final rosters are submitted to NHL head office. - 12:00PM EST OCT 3RD. It's always been this way. With some teams holding 35 players in camp - moving one to IR is really irrelevant

Ok, thanks for the info! I wonder when that final roster go in. I have an eye on some fliers on my league I want to take a chance on but don't want to drop any guys just yet

there's a deadline before the season starts. Most teams wait until that day.. the odd team will move players a day or two early

Yes well that’s not how ESPN has worked in every previous season. They completely updated this year and I’ve been in a league there for quite some time. Previously you could do exactly what the OP was talking about. If a guy like Shea Weber was known to be on the shelf until December he’d be listed as “Out” and IR eligeable. ESPN completely f’d up hockey this year. Big surprise.
