Zadina. Kinda surprising since I thought he'd get at least 9 games.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Honestly, I see very few surprises in this thread. Maybe two, and that's being generous.

Did he really get cut? Isn't he playing tonight? I thought I seen him flying around out there in today's game.

To be fair, Snow had done that before Lou got there. I do think he added some more bottom sixers, though.

He started off very well, then faded. He did show some moxie in the last Philly game but some additional top line development time in the AHL should be very beneficial for him long term. I don't think anyone here doubts his desire to play in the NHL so this "temporary" demotion will light a fire in him similar to throwing the medal away.

Howden with such a strong showing made Lias somewhat redundant.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Coach Quinn had him out taking faceoffs and the two have history together when they were both on Colorado.

700 NHL games, brings the toughness that Quinn SPECIFICALLY mentioned in a press conference after a poor showing against the devils when Gryba concussed Boo Nieves.

Perhaps if Beleskey had been healthy there would have been more of a challenge, but with his separated shoulder it was baked into the cake.

A no brainer for a team in need of veteran leadership, truculence and a rookie coach finding his sea legs in the NHL.

Note, do not conflate this statement with my opinion. I would have preferred another player to make the roster but I ain't surprised nor was it mysterious.

Cody brings passion, leadership and heart with every second (even if its only a few) he's on the ice. When the Avs were having their terrible seasons, he was the only one who looked like he still wanted to be there every shift. They traded him to nashville that trade deadline for literally nothing out of pure respect to him in hopes he'd have a shot of winning the cup.

Borgstrom sent to the AHL. I blame Hoffman's girlfriend.

Sam Gagner has gotta be one of the biggest surprises... especially when it was to keep Tyler Motte who is waiver exempt. Gagner had to have been really really really bad to lose his spot to Motte.

That implies rational decision making from Vancouver.

Wow did not see that coming. Maybe Borgstrom was cyber-bullying Hoffman's mother
