Vas..hes the cream of that batch..but id wonder if he wont be there for your 3rd pick?
My 3 keepers and scoring in signature.
Basically a Points only format with a mini bump for hits/blocks , shots on goal for skaters
Goalies get points for wins, Shut Outs and an Overtime or shoot out loss.
We start 1 goalie , can roster 2 max. Max 82 games played.
Andersen, Holtby are being kept by other GM?s
I have 8th and 9th pick in the snake draft.
Normally I would load up on top scoring forwards and get at least 1 high scoring D ( Burns, Ghost, Klingberg) (Karlsson and Hedman are being kept bu other GM?s, before I even look to draft a goalie.
Aside from Andersen, Holtby, are there a couple of goalies I shouldn?t pass up on with one of my first two picks (Hellebuyck, Bobrovsky, Vasilevskiy, Murray etc) or should I stay the course in my drafting strategy ?

Vas, Helle and Bob are on my radar. I’m just wondering with only 16 goalies total being drafted , is there enough of a drop off to worry about drafting a goalie early ? If I can continue to draft high end forwards while others draft their goalies wouldn’t that be the smarter play ? That’s the conundrum.

with only 16 goalies being drafted, I'd hold off. Vasilevsky and Hellebuyck are awesome, but even if they aren't there when your 3rd pick arrives, there will still be plenty of good goalies left (Jones, Rask, Quick, Murray, Bobrovsky, Rinne, Gibson, Fleury).

there will be value goalies available in later rounds - Raanta, Talbot, Jones, MAF. I would target the BPA.
If only 2 goalies are being kept - they have limited value within your league. Go get the player most likely to put up the most fantasy points REGARDLESS of position

To reply in context. Based on our scoring format and a Dobber’s projections using FHG:
Vas 239, Helle 227, Rinne 221, Bob 207
Dubnyk, Quick, Gibson, Rask, MAF - 182-190
Talbot, Raanta, Smith, Murray, Allen, Jones - 160-178pts
Ovie 254, Hall 240, Wheeler 239, Stamkos 235, Malkin 227, Gaudreau 223, P.Kane 222, Panarin 214pts
After Vas is drafted and Helle best available players will be forwards until the later rounds when the other two groupings of goalies will be in the same projected point range.
I think I’ve answered my own question. Once Vas and Helle go I should be drafting best player available because 2 out of the forward group listed above would go well with my McDavid, Crosby, Kucherov.
