Default Hague the second coming of Dougie Hamilton?

I thought of this the other day and the idea kind of stuck with me. Nicholas Hague I feel is being severely overlooked. The guy is produced pretty monstrous numbers last year in the OHL and is producing well already in pre-season with goals in both of the games he's played in (I know it's just pre-season). I think this guy has a really good shot at becoming a Dougie Hamilton like player and the compareables are pretty convincing.

1.Both 70 point producers in the OHL (Hague outscoring Hamilton by a wide margin)

    2. Both 6'6 high volume shooters.

    3. Both had knocks on their skating at the draft.

I just don't understand why Hague is so under the radar (not even ranked on dobber's list) when all the guy has done is improved vastly each season.

I have a rookie draft this weekend and want to take Hague with one of my latter picks. Good idea or would you rather a guy ranked on Dobber's list like Keandre Miller?

Hague is nothing like Dougie Hamilton... he's not a play driver in the same way.

However, if you're in a multi-cat league I think Hague is simply a must-own prospect. He projects to be Chara-like... 40-50 points, 100+ PIM, 200+ hits, 100+ blocks, though it'll take him 2-3 years to figure out how to play D in the NHL.

Hamilton had his 70-point season as an 18-year-old in 50 games.
Hague had his 70-point season as a 19-year-old in 67 games.

So yeah, that's a bit different. Very different styles as well. Their height is the only real thing they have in common.

Hague is a good prospect, especially in multi-cat leagues. I think he deserves a spot on Dobber's list, maybe even top 30 there. Not sure why Dobber is so low on him.

Our Vegas writer at DobberProspects is pretty high on him, giving him a 7.5 upside rating. https://dobberprospects.com/player/nicolas-hague/

He's certainly having a great preseason, but I think he's more Seabrook than Hamilton long term.

I see him more as playing on a pairing with Theodore or Brannstrom long term, and picking up his fair share of secondary assists.

I think all three shoot left, so I don't know if any of them will make up a pairing.

Isn't the Hockey Hall of Fame a type of Museum? What hockey player wouldn't wanna go there

As for Hague... I think he will round out to be a 30-35 point D-man, a secondary option.

Hamilton has his knocks but skating of all things was not one of them.

That would make him a top3 D pick in most leagues that count above stats.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Secondary assists?? But all the guy does is score now! I almost hope they move him somewhere where we can be a PP option not too far down the road.

Max Pacioretty referred to Hague as a future "Chris Pronger" in a couple seasons. It's possible but unlikely he gets to that level but I do feel he's criminally underrated. I grabbed him in the later rounds of my draft. I could've tried waiting to take him at next years draft but if he has another exceptional season, he'd be alot harder to get then now.

Theodore generally plays his off side, I believe.

Brannstrom also has a history of playing his off side. Very common with left-handed shots because there aren't enough right-handed shot guys available.
