Hey guys, just looking to get some opinions on Zadina now that we are right around the corner from the season. Will he stick around with detroit and make an impact?
Our draft is coming up and I am considering him over a couple of veterans who will be there. Not going to say whos available as I am just looking for opinions on Zadina. Rookies are valuable as we can keep them outside of our main keepers until either 200 games are played or they turn 24 years old.
Fantrax: 7 keepers - Goals, Assists, PPP, Hits, Blocks, Shots, +/-, PM, Wins, Shutouts.
Forwards: McDavid, Guentzel, A. Svechnikov, B Tkachuk

Definitely a gamble over proven vets. I agree that even if he sticks for the season, it's even harder to guess his production.
Hard to give you an honest answer without knowing the alternative vet options.

I love Zadina long-term. I would snag him and stash him as one of your 10 prospects and hope he gives you something this season. Zad is a pure gunner and I'm confident he will score 35 goals one day.

Hischier I see as absolute best result for comparison's sake for Zadina this year. I also wouldn't be shocked if he went back to the QMJHL this year with Halifax. Det notoriously like to bring prospects along slowly. There's no need to rush him & Halifax is becoming a bit like London in the Q - a NHL player factory - meaning he would be returning to a good developmental organization. If they sent McIsaac back as well, they would help position the Moose to make a run for the Memorial Cup as well.
