If you think you're in a position to win this year I don't see any of the rookies that you listed helping you. Who are the top Dmen available? Looking at your team that's where I would focus my attention or goalie. Murrays injuries worry me.
Hi,
I'm in complicated keeper league and i'm drafthing 3e this year . The only problem, i don't know who to draft...
The league is in sign. Rookie are exclued from keeper on their rookie year, that's boost their value.
I'm in winning mode, but i try to thing about the futur. Does i draft a rookie with low stats this year (but i could keep it) or i draft a descent player (i'll lose it at the end of the year).
Since i draft 3e, Svechnkov or Dahlin will probably be gone.
So the rookie available (my prediction):
Ryan Donato (43)
Filip Zadina (40)
Andreas Johnsson (38)
Dylan Sikura (37)
Valentin Zykov (35)
Filip Chytil (35)
Brody Tkatchuk (32)
Adam Gaudette (27)
Robert Thomas (25)
Some of these maybe available on the second round.
Other player (i wouldn't be able to keep them)
Rielly Smith
Bo Horvat
Sam Reinhart
Nick Schmaltz
Kevin Fiala
So my question:
1. Is it better to draft a rookie or draft a good player ?
2. Which rookie would you draft base on their upside for this and next year ?
Thank

there’s no good Dmen or goalie. The top 45Dmen are already taken. The best left are Petry, Green and the Anaheim top4.
Allen is the best goalie, but is already injure. After that there’s Raanta and Smith.
so, we back on how do you rank these guy:
Rielly Smith
Bo Horvat
Sam Reinhart
Kevin Fiala
Anthony Mantha
Nick Schmatzl
Elias Lindholm

I think I might be inclined to take Allen here. The Blues have made a ton of additions, and their roster looks really damn good on paper. I'd be surprised if Allen doesn't rack up a ton of wins this season. If you're insisting on taking a F, then I would go with Fiala. He's got the biggest star potential of any of those guys. Horvat will probably have a 60-point season, but I think Fiala is a better guy to own longer-term. Schmaltz, Reinhart, Reilly Smith are also pretty comparable options, too. I think Allen, given your categories, is by far the most valuable goalie available by virtue of team quality. There are a bunch of decent F options you can pick up whoever is available with your next pick.
