How did I do on my draft? What do you guys think?

I drafted #3/12. Are there anyone that's worth a pick up on the FA list and who should I be dropping?

Looks like you faired well, your goalies are likely at the bottom of the 12 team league. If I were guessing I’d say middle of the pack say 5-6 but hard to know without seeing all other rosters. I would pick up Buchnevich and I would drop Perry, Mantha, or Palat. I don’t think most would agree but I am bullish on him and he is going to explode out of nowhere I wouldn’t be surprised to see him put up 70 points this year, the guy has mad skills. I believe he has Kucherov upside but I know I will get backlash for that but I don’t care. Lol

I agree on the goalie front. Your goalies represent 4 out of 13 categories..30% of your scoring. That might be something you look to address? At least they are starters though, I'd personally look to leverage a couple of skaters for a top end goalie. If you put yourself in a position to lock up 4 goalie cats a week you'll be hard to beat and minimize the heavy defeats.

Check the needs of other teams and see if you can help with them? I think there is enough on the wire to accommodate giving up some lesser skaters in a bundle. Buchnevich is already mentioned and I'm high on him this year. Equally I feel like Ondrej Kase might go past Corey Perry as the season goes on. Is he available? Worst case scenario you create a streaming spot to pick up the streaking player week on week.

Rep'd all and added Buchnevich for Palat. O. Kase has been drafted already.

Anyone else want to chime in?

I also don't like your goalies, but that's partly due to the strategy. Allen isn't good really, but should get wins, by being the starter on a good team. Raanta is on a lesser team, but is a better goalie. They have opposite strengths, and that may be an issue.

Gudas desperately needs to get dropped, for a better defenseman. He's not what he used to be, and is no longer going to be a top 4 defenseman in Philly. Maybe Trouba or a similar defender?

Screw goalies. They are too fickle from year to year, and I never invest in them in the early rounds of a draft. Somebody mentioned that 30% of your categories are for goalies, but that's actually a low number (most leagues I'm aware of are 40%).

I'm in a very similar league and I plan on targeting Raanta as my #1 goalie, so you have my full support on that front. I think it looks like a pretty solid team.

Looks solid to me as well, I really don't see anything wrong with your goalies. Are they the best? no... but goalies are pretty random anyways so you never know. That's why I don't bother until the 4th/ 5th rounds to pick my first goalie.

I feel like you could easily jettison Chara for Petry. Plus-minus will be a concern, but he should be a solid contributor in offensive categories, PPP, SOG, Hits, and Blocks. If you have IR spots, you should absolutely be stashing Weber. Colin Miller is another interesting option for cross-category production on defense.
